JHB: Julie Miller African Contemporary
Every year, South Africans celebrate women of all types and races during the month of August. The country commemorates the 1956 women’s march which took place at the Union Buildings in Pretoria to protest against the proposed amendments to the Urban Areas Act.
Following the upsurge of Gender Based Violence against children, cis, non-binary and trans women, Art@Africa in collaboration with Julie Miller African Contemporary presents a womxn focused exhibition that highlights the modern day womxn, as well as her contributions to society.
We chose the Top 50 Womxn who submitted work for this exhibition to take part in the physical group exhibition shared between JHB and CT.
We will also host the work of the Top 100 Womxn online.
We need you to choose your favorite artist either by rating the artworks and/or by completing the Poll.
At the end of the Exhibition the votes will be counted and the winner of the People's Choice Award will be announced. The winner will be granted a solo exhibition in 2021 that will travel from CT to JHB.
So please support your favorite artist.
